SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Centenary’s bid for its first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball win came to a halt Sunday as the Ladies were swept by Trinity University and Austin College to wrap up conference play.

Centenary drops to 1-27 and 0-10 in SCAC play before the Rhodes Tournament Oct.26-27. Trinity improved to 14-13 and 7-2 in league play, just a half-game behind Colorado College (21-8, 8-2) for the SCAC lead. Austin College moved to 19-11 (5-4), fourth in the six-member conference.

The Ladies offense struggled in Sunday’s debut, committing 20 errors with just 18 kills, adding six service errors. But Centenary improved in each set in the three-set loss to the Tigers, 25-12, 25-15, 25-19 before falling to Austin College 25-8, 25-18, 25-13.

Dallas Jagneaux recorded a team-high six kills, followed by Lindsey Bruce’s three.  Jagneaux also led Centenary with a .188 kill percentage.

Senior libero Jesi Wilcox led the Ladies again with 16 digs, accounting for nearly half of the team’s 33. She grabbed 51 digs over the weekend, needing only 17 more to crack Centenary’s single-season top-10 list.

Trinity’s Kelsey Daniel recorded a game-high 12 kills in 21 attacks with no errors for a stellar .571 hitting mark. Jenny Epperson tallied 28 assists in the win.

Looking to rebound against Austin College, the Ladies offense improved, but not dramatically enough to capture a win. Centenary hit .041 as a team, led by Sara Irons’ .286 mark with five kills in 14 attempts and only a single error. Emily Shelton led Centenary with 15 digs, followed by Wilcox’s 10.

Shelby Eaves and Allison Ahlberg led all players with 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
