SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary volleyball team enters Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action this weekend as the Ladies (1-8) travel to the University of Dallas for three matches. The Maroon and White open on Friday, Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. against Colorado College before closing out the event against the host Crusaders (12:30 p.m.) and Austin College (5 p.m.) on Saturday.

Sophomore Sarah Irons paces the squad with 72 kills on the year – which ranks eighth in the conference - while Sarah Sumner and Brooke Bahlinger are tied for second on the team with 56 kills each. Beth Nuttall ranks third in the SCAC in assists. The setter has garnered 211 in her final campaign with Maroon and White, including a career-high 32 against Belhaven earlier this season.

Defensively for the Ladies, Bahlinger and Nuttall sit first and second on the team in digs with Bahling recording 85 while Nuttall has added 74 on the season.  Lindsey Long, who leads the team in attack percentage with a .188, stands as one of two players with double figure blocks. The sophomore has totaled a team-leading 15 while Kadidiatou Diawara has logged 10 on the season.

CC boasts a spotless 12-0 record coming into the weekend while UD sits 4-6 overall this season. The Blue and White have dropped four of its last five, including a 3-0 outing at Concordia (NE) University last time out.

AC enters the week 8-6 on the season after having a two-game, win streak snapped in a 3-0 decision at UT-Tyler on Sunday.

Colorado College ranks as the conference leader in kills, averaging 13.38 per set, while posting a .252 hitting percentage, which also ranks best among the conference. Austin College sits third among the conference leaders in hitting percentage (.203) and ranks fourth in kills with 11.75 per set.

Shelby Eaves paces the conference in kills with 4.69 per set (244 total) to lead the Roos.  Abbegail Holtze and Emily Phillips sit second and third in the league in kills with 3.70 and 2.91 per set respectively to lead CC.

Following the weekend slate, Centenary returns to the court on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at East Texas Baptist, Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
