SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary volleyball team returns to the court on Tuesday, Oct. 7 as the Ladies look to improve upon a five-set victory last week as they host the University of Texas-Tyler. Match time is set for 6 p.m. Prior to the match, the volleyball program will honor its lone senior Beth Nuttall.

Nuttall enters the contest one of the top assist leaders in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Lone Star State setter ranks fourth among the conference leaders with 439 assists for the season –averaging 6.97 per set. The Conroe, Texas, product posted a pair of double-doubles last week for the Ladies, including one in the win over LeTourneau.

Sarah Sumner leads Centenary in kills and returns to the list of conference leaders. Sumner ranks 10th in the SCAC with 2.52 kills per set and has logged 159 in her junior season.  The Arlington, Texas, native like Nuttall recorded double-doubles last week. Sumner led the Ladies with 32 kills and 30 digs. Sumner logged 13 kills and 14 digs against East Texas Baptist and followed it up with 19 kills and 16 digs in the win over the Yellowjackets.

Rachel Perkins has moved quietly up the ladder and sits tops among the leaders in the league in service aces. Perkins is averaging 0.46 aces per set and has tallied 29 on the campaign.

UTT enters the midweek action with a 15-6 record and winners of two straight. Breanna Brummett paces the Patriots with 271 kills on the season while Rebecca Floyd has 733 assists on the year. Courtney Criswell leads the Blue and Orange defensively with 335 digs.

Following the contest against UTT, Centenary returns to action on Friday, Oct. 11 as part of the SCAC Divisional series. The Ladies open up the three-match weekend with the University of Dallas at 6 p.m. The divisional concludes on Saturday with contests against nationally-ranked Colorado College (10:30 a.m.) and Austin College (5 p.m.).
