SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary volleyball team prepares for its final three matches of the regular season as the Ladies travel to Longview, Texas. Centenary opens the trio of matches at 3 p.m. against Rust College on Friday, Nov. 1 as follows with a 7 p.m. outing against LeTourneau. The two-day event concludes at 4 p.m. against the University of Texas at Tyler.

Sarah Sumner leads the Ladies offensively with 259 kills this season which ranks seventh in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. Beth Nuttall ranks fourth in the league in assists with 640. Defensively the Maroon and White, Brooke Bahlinger, who is second on the team in kills with 161, leads a quintet of Ladies with 200-plus digs this season. Bahlinger has registered 295 on the campaign with Chelsea Petska second on the team with 227. Sumner (216), Rachel Perkins (205) and Nuttall (204) round out the fivesome. Lindsey Long  and Kadidiatou Diawara lead the team in blocks with 44 and 31 respectively.  Long also has 100 kills.

Centenary fell in the final four matches of SCAC action dropping in straight sets to Trinity, Schreiner, Southwestern and Texas Lutheran. Sumner finished the cross-divisional with 37 kills while Nuttall added 84 assists to lead the Ladies. Petska led the defensive effort for the Maroon and White with 47 digs for the four matches.

Following the weekend, Centenary travels to San Antonio, Texas, for the double-elimination, SCAC Championship. The Ladies play against Trinity at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 8.
