LONGVIEW, Texas – The Centenary volleyball team recorded a pair of victories on Friday evening after taking a thrilling, 3-2 win over LeTourneau. The Ladies opened the day with a straight sets win over Rust College.

Centenary rallied back in the final two sets 25-22 and 17-15 to claim the win over LETU after falling behind 2-1 (24-26, 26-24, 21-25). The 3-0 win over Rust marked the first, straight-set victory of the season.

The decision over the Jackets is the second in a month and the fourth, five-set win this season for the Ladies. The Maroon and White knocked off LETU in the in five-sets on Oct. 2 to claim its second win of the season. Centenary defeated Belhaven and Austin College also in five games earlier this season.

A trio of Ladies posted doubles-doubles in the victory over the Blue and Gold. Brooke Bahlinger tallied a team-best 19 kills along with 19 digs for Centenary. Sarah Sumner paced the team with 28 digs partnered with 12 kills on the night. Rachel Perkins rounded out the double-double group with 11 kills and 14 digs.

Beth Nuttall added 52 assists in the win over LETU and finished the day with 59 total as she dished out seven against Rust. Lindsey Long totaled 12 kills in outcome for the Ladies.

Kadidiatou Diawara paced the Maroon and White in the win over Rust with seven kills while Long added four. Bahlinger led the defensive effort with six digs as Perkins and Petska each tabbed in five.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 2 as the Ladies face the University of Texas at Tyler at 4 p.m. on the campus of LeTourneau University.
