History in Many Ways

It was a historical season in many ways for Centenary volleyball in 2017.

The 15 wins were the second-most in program history and the highest total since the 1999 season (21).

Senior Desiree Frey, with her 1,000th dig in the third set against Louisiana College October 18, became the first Centenary player with more than 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs. With 1,144 kills and 1,138 digs, she ranks second in the Ladies career annals.

On Monday, she became only the second All-Conference volleyball player in team history and the first in 19 years.

Junior Hailey Lawson broke the career aces record on her first serve in the Ladies straight set win over Schreiner on October 21. The win also qualified Centenary for the SCAC Tournament. She has 169 for her career and currently sits third in the SCAC with 0.57 aces per set.

While she moved in to second place last year, senior Allison Lazewski is second all-time in career assists, coming into the weekend with 2,263. She currently is fifth in the SCAC with 5.55 assists per set. She matched her career best with 47 assists in a Ladies four-set win against Belhaven October 27.
