Morris tallied a game-high 22 points while Hurst added 11 on a 7-for-8 mark from the line.

Centenary trailed by as much as 13 in the fourth quarter, but a Morris layup and a sophomore Savanah Doty three cut the deficit to eight with 4:39 remaining. However, Centenary could climb no closer despite holding Southwestern scoreless the next three minutes.

Doty came off the bench with 13 for Centenary.

The Pirates kept the game in hand by making 7-for-8 from the line in the final minutes.

A 14-1 run by the visitors in the third turned an eight-point lead into a five-point deficit. Southwestern went 2-for-4 from the charity stripe before senior Linda Gomez Gil split from the line. Tori Carraway took a defensive rebound and made a fastbreak jumper while being fouled. She made the free throw to cut the deficit lead to four. Layups by Naomi Brown and Carraway tied the game.

A pair from the line by Madison Edwards, and a fastbreak triple by Kelsey Faykus, put Southwestern in the lead for good.
