Ladies Offense not Enough Against LC

Pineville, La – Senior Vashni Sharp-Moore and freshmen Brianna Edwards each got their first double-double of the year, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a tough defensive Louisiana College team as the Ladies fell 100-63 Monday night.

The Lady Wildcats (1-0) had four players reach double figures in scoring, and also forced Centenary into 47 turnovers off of 29 steals.

Natosha Gottlieb led Louisiana College with 16 points and pulling down 19 rebounds for the Lady Wildcats only double-double. Karylon Thornton, Keana Frank, and Mallory Horn all added 10 points each.

Centenary (0-2) improved their offensive production by shooting a season high from the field this game at 39.7%. The Ladies forced 24 turnovers off of 14 steals and notched two double-doubles. Vashni Sharp-Moore led all scorers with 22 points, led the team with 5 steals, and tied for a team high 10 rebounds. Edwards added 13 points and also pulling down 10 rebounds.

Sophomore Dionecia Warr continued her excellent season by following Sharp-Moore in scoring with 19 points. She also had 8 rebounds, 4 steals, and 5 assists for a team high.

The Ladies home opener is this Saturday against Mississippi College at 2 p.m.
