SEGUIN, Texas – The Centenary women’s basketball team fell 75-50 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference at Texas Lutheran on Friday evening.

Rhonda Martin paced the Ladies (0-16, 0-7 SCAC) with 15 points while DeiAnna Hall added 12 points in the contest. The scoring was a season-high for Martin while Hall tallied her ninth, career contest in double-digits. Briana Edwards grabbed nine rebounds to lead the team. Kayla Ruth added eight boards – marking a career-high.

The Maroon and White played the Bulldogs nearly even in the second stanza, but couldn’t overcome a 48-24 first half deficit.

TLU opened with a 27-9 run over the first 10 minutes of the contest and reached as much as a 24-point advantage in the opening stanza. The Bulldogs reached their largest lead with just over a minute to play at 31 points off a free throw from Tiffany Dziuk.

Karisa Cantu stood as the only Bulldog in double figures with 15 points. Autumn Shead led the way on the glass with five rebounds – one more than Cantu, Dalia Camargo and Kristen Lye.

The Ladies shot 27 percent from the field and 22 percent from behind the arc. The Maroon and White connected on 54 percent from the free throw line. TLU connected on just shy of 41 percent of its shots from the floor and a clip of 29 from the three-point line. The Black and Gold was 56 percent from the line on the night.

Centenary returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Schreiner. Tip is slated for 6 p.m.
