SHREVEPORT, La. – Thirteen contests inside the Pelican State including nine home dates headline the 2014-15 Centenary women’s basketball schedule as announced by Ladies’ head coach Kristen Davis.

“I’m really excited about the way our 2014-15 schedule turned out. We have an extremely competitive non-conference schedule to prepare us for our demanding conference schedule in the SCAC,” said Davis. “I’m already looking forward to our official start of practice on October 15th. We have a great group retuning and five new freshmen that are ready to get to work.”

The Maroon and White open the season on Nov. 15 inside the confines of the Gold Dome as they welcome the University of Texas at Tyler. The date is the first of two on the Ladies’ home floor as LeTourneau pays a visit on Nov. 29. Centenary travels to Louisiana College on Nov. 17 and follows by taking part in the two-day University of Dallas Classic on Nov. 21-22 against the University of the Ozarks and Elmira College.

“This year, we kick off the season in Gold Dome against UT-Tyler. We always look forward to playing on our home court and in front of our supportive, energetic fans.  Just two days later, we travel down to Louisiana College. LC is the only other Division III school in Louisiana so this is always in intense game for the both teams,” Davis stated. “Before Thanksgiving break we’ll travel to Irving to compete in the Dallas Classic.  The back-to-back format is a great way to prepare of for our SCAC schedule.”

Four straight dates away from the Dome define December. The Ladies open the month by traveling to intra-city rival LSU-Shreveport on Dec. 2. Shreveport’s Team follows with contests at Rhodes (Dec. 6), LSU-Alexandria (Dec. 9) and Division I McNeese State (Dec. 10). Centenary returns to its home floor on Dec. 30 against Hendrix College.

“We hit the road for the most part of December. LSU-S is first up in a series of road games. This is a great game for both schools. The players know each other and even workout together in the off-season. Both school’s fans and supporters come out and create a great, competitive atmosphere.  After LSU-S, we head to Memphis, Tenn. to face Rhodes, who is a perennial power in Division III,” Davis commented. “We finish our road swing with LSU-A and McNeese State. MSU is a very competitive Division I program and we know the challenge is great. However, we want to always strive to be better and compete against the best to improve our program.”

The first of 14 consecutive Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference outings awaits the Ladies in 2015 as they travel to Colorado College for back-to-back contests starting Jan. 2. The meetings with the Tigers are followed by trips to Texas Lutheran (Jan. 9) and Southwestern (Jan. 10).

Centenary’s first SCAC, home contest is Jan. 16 against the University of Dallas followed with a Jan. 18 home date against Austin College.  The Ladies close out the month against Trinity on Jan. 30 with road swings at TU (Jan. 23) and Schreiner (Jan. 24) sandwiched in between.

The Maroon and White closes out the regular season with three of its final dates inside the Gold Dome including Schreiner (Feb. 1), Texas Lutheran (Feb.13) and Southwestern (Feb. 15). Trips to Dallas (Feb. 6) and Austin College (Feb. 7) are posted between the home outings.

The SCAC Championship is slated for Feb. 27-March 1 at a site to be announced.
