SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary women’s basketball team fell 74-44 to Austin College on Sunday afternoon at the Gold Dome despite receiving a double-double from Briana Edwards and season-high rebounding effort from Haley Deshautelle.

The double-double marks the fifth of the season for Edwards and her third straight as she finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds. With the 17 points, the Shreveport, La., native has logged 10 outings in double digits.

Deshautelle finished the night with 12 boards giving the Pineville, La., product her second double figure rebounding effort of the season en route to setting a season-high. The sophomore finished with eight points in the contest.

DeiAnna Hall joined Edwards in double figures scoring with 10 points for his sixth outing of the season.

Centenary was stymied by the ‘Roos defense that tuned 23 miscues into 17 points. AC also outscored the Ladies in the paint by 10 while receiving 45 points from its bench.

The Maroon and White shot just 26.9 percent from the field and were 13 for 26 from the charity stripe in the loss. AC posted a 37.1 clip from the floor including shooting 32.1 percent from behind the arc.

Chrissy Ray paced the Maroon and Gold with 20 points as Christina Kime added 17 points in the decision.

Centenary returns to action on Jan. 23 as it travels to Trinity University. Tip is scheduled for 6 p.m.
