KERRVILLE, Texas – Despite outscoring Shreiner in the second half, the Centenary women’s basketball team dropped a 60-49 decision on Saturday afternoon.

The Ladies outscored the homestanding Mountaineers 28-24 in the second stanza, but couldn’t overcome a 15-point deficit at the intermission.

Briana Edwards led the Ladies with 15 points and 15 rebounds marking her seventh double-double of the season and her second straight for the weekend. The Shreveport, La., native has scored in double figures five straight outings and 12 total.

DeiAnna Hall joined the junior in double digits with 13 points for the Maroon and White.

Centenary finished the night shooting 24.6 percent from the field and was 18.2 percent from behind the arc. The Ladies finished the night connecting on 57.6 percent from the charity stripe.

Kelsie Jackson paced SU with 23 points and 11 rebounds. The Mountaineers were 36.1 percent from the floor and 60 percent from the free-throw line. Schreiner equaled Centenary with 18.2 percent from behind the arc.

Centenary returns to action on Friday, Jan. 30 as it hosts Trinity University. Tip is slated for 6 p.m.
