Ladies Golf Finish Eighth at Ogio-Bulldog Classic
INDIO, Calif. – The Centenary Ladies golf team wrapped up the Ogio Bulldog Classic at the Par 72 Indian Springs Golf Club by finishing eighth with a two-round total of 701 (+125) Monday and Tuesday, March 27-28. Top-ranked George Fox won the tournament, which featured four teams ranked in the top-10. George Fox won the tournament by 24 strokes over eighth-ranked Claremont Mudd Scripps, shooting a 611 (+35). Sophomore Jessica Varner, ranked 56th in the country, finished the tournament with a two-round total of 159 (+15). She finished fourth in the tournament with five birdies and was one of only five golfers to finish under par on par-5 holes (-1, tied for second). Sophomore Taylor Adair improved seven strokes for the final round (81, +9) and shot a 169 total (+25) to finish 31st. Freshman Erin Rostro fired a 90 both days for a 180 score (+36). Junior Toni Collaro and senior Courtney Kale finished 45th and 46th with 193 (+49) and 207 (+63), respectively. Second-ranked Sydney Maluenda from George Fox won the tournament with a 145 (+1). Varner and the rest of the Ladies golf team wrap up the 2016-17 season April 24-25 at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco, Texas. |
