NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Ladies Golf team improved 32 strokes from day one to day two, the biggest improvement of any team in score from the first to second round, as Centenary finished ninth in a field full of NCAA Division II teams at the Minot State Intercollegiate at the Aliante Golf Club Saturday, March 10.

Centenary (744, +168) bested Chadron State by 48 strokes and Minnesota-Crookston by 57. Rocky Mountain College won the tournament with a 647 (+71), holding off a fast charging Minnesota State by two strokes.

Junior Jessica Varner finished the day with a 79 (+7) and finished 17th with a two-round total of 165 (+21). Junior Taylor Adair turned in an 89 (+17) to take 38th at 177 (+33).

Sophomore Erin Rostro improved 19 strokes from round one, firing an 88 (+16) and finishing tied for 53rd with a 195 (+51) total. Junior Shannon Orlopp improved seven strokes in round two (100, +28) and finished with a 207 (+63). Freshman Aerial Reeves, competing as an individual, finished behind Orlopp by three strokes, turning in a final round 106 (+34).

Senior Toni Ficarra rounded out the Centenary contingent with a 110 (+38), finishing the tournament tied for 62nd with a 219 (+75) total.

The Ladies Golf team returns to action in its only home tournament of the season, the Hal Sutton Intercollegiate, March 19-20 at the Golf Club at Stonebridge in Bossier City.
