Ladies Welcome Schreiner, Texas Lutheran to Mayo in ASC Openers

SHREVEPORT-The Centenary women's soccer team will begin ASC play this weekend when it hosts Schreiner on Friday at 2 pm and Texas Lutheran on Saturday at 2 pm on Mayo Field.

The Ladies (2-3, 0-0 ASC) are coming off its second one-point loss this season, falling 3-2 to cross-town opponent, LSU-Shreveport, on Monday at home. Centenary saw goals from junior Courtney Cleveland and senior Laura Immenschuh, but the Pilots were able to break open with a late goal for the Mayor's Cup victory.

A LOOK AT STATS
Centenary has been outscored by its opponents 15-10 thus far. The Ladies are led offensively by junior Holden Penney's three goals and one assist. Freshman Carly Slovensky has contributed with two goals in her debut outing, while senior Candace Rushing adds a goal and two assists to the mix. Freshman goal keeper Brittaney Dunn has played all 450 minutes in goal, collecting 30 saves for a .667 percentage and a 2-3 record with two shutouts.

A LOOK AT SCHREINER
Schreiner enters Friday's game with a 1-4 record and a 0-1 mark in ASC play. The Mountaineers have been outscored 17-2 in their first five games. Their only win came over Huston-Tillotson. In Schreiner's only ASC game played, the Mountaineers fell 1-0 to the Bulldogs at home.

A LOOK AT TEXAS LUTHERAN
Texas Lutheran will meet Centenary on Saturday with a 1-3 overall record and a 1-0 record in ASC play. The Bulldogs have, however, been outscored 17-3 by its opponents in the first four games. They beat Schreiner, 1-0 in their ASC opener.
