Ladies fall 6-0 to No. 7 Trinity
SAN ANTONIO, Texas – No. 7 Trinity netted three goals within the first eight minutes and didn’t slow down as the Lady Tigers downed Centenary 6-0 Sunday afternoon in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer action. The Ladies drop to 3-7-1 and 0-6, losing their fifth straight, all SCAC contests. Trinity jumps to 10-1-2 and stays perfect in league play at 6-0-0. Wrapping up a three-match stint away from Mayo Field, Centenary hosts Austin College Oct. 20 at 3 p.m., the first of four straight home games to close the regular season. Six different Lady Tigers found the back of the net, forcing head coach Glenn Evans to pull Brittaney Dunn in the 77th minute. She collected 10 saves before Lauren Cullen finished the final 13:50 with three saves and no goals allowed. Emily Jorgens, Samantha Atkins and Kelsey Falcone put Trinity up 3-0 within the first 7:57 before Michelle Lanier extended the lead to 4-0 just before the half. Shelby Guenthardt and Stephanie Segovia finished the game’s scoring 24 minutes apart in the second half. For the second time in as many games, Trinity held an outstanding shots margin, 40-1, after outshooting Centenary 57-1 in the 10-0 Tiger win Sept. 28. |
