Austin College edges Ladies in double OT
SHREVEPORT – Traci Lee scored her first goal of the year Saturday as Centenary looked to snap its five-match skid, but Austin College’s Abby Saizow netted the game-winner in double overtime at the 103:05 mark as the ‘Roos escaped with a 2-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer win. The Ladies drop their sixth straight match, falling to 3-8-1 and 0-6 in SCAC play. Austin College upped its mark to 5-8-1 (3-2). Centenary hosts Texas College Tuesday at 5 p.m. to continue its four-match home stand. Lee knotted the score at one with a 30-yard score off a free kick at the 62:46 mark. Tyler Marquez received an assist from Ariel Marder for the game’s first goal midway into the 20th minute before Saizow’s game-winner. Lee scored on her only shot attempt while Amanda Atwell accounted for four of Centenary’s 10 shots, only three on goal. Austin College fired 18 shots, 11 on goal, as Centenary’s Brittaney Dunn grabbed nine saves.
