IRVING, Texas – The Centenary women’s soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision on Friday afternoon to the University of Dallas. The setback marks the second Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference affair and falls to 2-5-1 overall.

After a scoreless first half, Nicole Johnson posted both Cruaders’ goals to secure the victory. Johnson’s first score came in the 51st minute with the final tally coming in the 79th minute. Kayla Nguyen and Mariah Fairbanks assisted on the goals.

The Ladies fired off nine shots in the contest with five coming on goal. Amanda Atwell led the way with three of the shots for the Maroon and White with two on target. Madison Alexander and Traci Lee added two shots each.

Erica Coker (2-4) played all 90 minutes in net for Centenary. The freshman keeper warned off nine, UD shots in the loss.

The Crusaders totaled 23 shots on the afternoon with 11 coming on goal.

Brigid Hasson (3-4) logged the win in goal with five saves in the affair.

Centenary returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 24 as the Ladies host Texas College. Match time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
