SHREVEPORT, La. – The Centenary women’s soccer team returns to the pitch this weekend as the Ladies host Texas Lutheran at 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4 and close out the weekend slate on Sunday, Oct. 6 against Schreiner at Noon.

The Maroon and White look to snap a four-game skid in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action.

Amanda Atwell stands among the leaders in shot this season with 25 which places her eighth in the league. The sophomore is tied with Carly Slovensky for tops on the team in goals with three. The duo has taken six shots each to stand tops on the squad.

Erica Coker continues to stand out among the top goalkeepers in the conference. The freshman is tops in saves with 66 and ranks second in save percentage at just under 79-percent. Coker posted back-to-back, double-digit save performances in the Ladies last two outings, including 15 in a loss at Trinity.

TLU is 5-4 entering the weekend, including wins in its last two affairs at Southwestern and against Dallas. The Mountaineers are searching for its first win of the season.

The Bulldogs’ Sioned Kirkpatrick ranks second in the conference in goals with eight while teammate Maegan Idrogo is tied for third with seven goals this season. Bria Howard paces SU with two goals on the year.

Erin Rose is fifth among keepers in saves with 46 on the campaign while Shreiner’s Lizeth De La Torre is third with 54 saves.

Following the weekend action, Centenary returns to action on Friday, Oct. 11 at Texas Lutheran. Match time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
