Women's Soccer falls 6-1 at ETBU

MARSHALL, Texas – The Centenary women’s soccer team fell to 0-2 on the season as the Ladies dropped a 6-1 decision at East Texas Baptist on Saturday afternoon. ETBU improved to 1-0 on the season.
The Ladies faced a stymie defense for the Tigers as Centenary managed just two shots on the day both coming off the foot of Madison Alexander. The Maroon and White’s lone score of the evening came on an own goal after trailing 2-0 in the contest.
Lauren Cullen and Erica Coker split time in net for Centenary. The duo recorded a combined six saves.
Kia Jelley paced the ETBU offense with two of the six goals. Jelley was one of five Tigers to score in the contest. As a team, ETBU attempted 18 shots in the effort.
Christina Salas (1-0) took the win in net despite recording a save in the contest.
Centenary returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 2 as the Ladies open the 2014 home slate against Wiley College. Kick is slated for 5 p.m.
