SHREVEPORT, La. – It will be a split weekend for the Centenary College women’s soccer team (1-13, 0-10 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) as the Ladies battle Dallas (4-11-1, 3-6-1 SCAC) at home Friday night at 6 p.m. before traveling to Hendrix (9-6-1) for a non-conference tilt Sunday, October 25, at 1 p.m.

The Maroon and White fell to Dallas earlier this month, 3-0, after sitting tied with the Crusaders scoreless at half. Freshman Liz Knight, in his only game in goal on the season, grabbed three saves. Senior Madeline Stokes had a pair of shots on goal.

For the Lady Crusaders, Alexa Acquista, Mason Cosgrove and Samantha Deitschel all scored their-then second goal of the season.

After playing its final conference game of the season Saturday, Hendrix battles Centenary for their last home game of the season Sunday at one. The Ladies defeated the Warriors 2-1 in overtime last weekend on a penalty kick goal. Madison Alexander scored in the 41st minute of the first half.

Vanessa Franco scored in the final minutes of regulation.

Behind the Numbers

Junior goalie Erica Coker is third in the SCAC with 98 goals while easily leads the conference in saves per game.

With 98 saves, she is one away from reaching the top-10 in single-season saves in program history. She is also fifth in the career annals with 283 in almost three seasons.

Conference Tournament Picture

The Ladies are currently seventh in the conference, four points behind Austin. To secure a spot in the upcoming SCAC Tournament, Centenary needs to win out and needs Austin to either tie or lose to Dallas  on Sunday. The Maroon and White battles Austin for the regular season finale for both teams next Friday, October 30.

Next Up

The Ladies conclude the regular season next Friday for a huge conference game at Austin. Kickoff in Sherman, Texas, is set for 1 p.m.
