Five-match win streak at stake Friday
SHREVEPORT – Six Ladies take win streaks into Friday’s non-conference women’s tennis match against in-city rival LSU-Shreveport at the Centenary Tennis Complex at 2 p.m.
Centenary (5-2) breaks from American Southwest Conference play, where it's a perfect 5-0, to put its five-match win streak on the line. LSUS is 2-6 on the year after losing three straight and four of its last five. In the team’s first meeting, LSUS downed Centenary 5-4 at the Centenary Tennis Complex, but the Ladies haven’t lost since then.
Lauren Beurlot, Katie Cornwell and Olivia ride team-best four-match winning streaks. Cornwell and West are 6-1 on the year, best on the squad, while Beurlot has rebounded to 4-3 after dropping her first three matches.
Catlin Orschel’s three-match win streak puts her at 3-2 while Isadora Bickham (4-3) and Holly Clark (3-4) each ride two-match win streaks.
After Friday’s match, the Ladies host Arkansas-Pine Bluff April 11 at noon before traveling to Grambling April 13 at 2 p.m. in a rematch of Centenary’s season opener. Centenary finishes the season April 14 at the Centenary Tennis Complex April 14 against UT-Tyler at 2:30 p.m. |
