Ladies streak on the line against Grambling
GRAMBLING, La. – Looking to avenge its season-opening loss and extend its win streak to seven, Centenary travels to Grambling Friday afternoon for a non-conference women’s tennis match at 2 p.m. The Ladies (6-2) dropped the first match of the season to Grambling (3-9), 9-0, at the Centenary Tennis Complex, but have rattled off six straight wins after dropping their first two of the year. Centenary is 1-0 in rematches this year, besting Shreveport rival LSUS 9-0 March 30 after a 4-5 loss Feb. 16. After the Grambling match, Centenary wraps up its season at home with an American Southwest Conference match against UT-Tyler April 14 at 2:30 p.m. Olivia West and Kate Cornwell lead the Ladies charge to extend the win streak with 7-1 singles records, each winning five straight. Lauren Beurlot also rides a five-match win streak after losing her first three of the season. She’s a perfect 4-0 playing as the No. 3 seed. Top-seeded Isadora Bickham leads three Ladies who have won three straight, upping her record to 5-3. Holly Clark evened her record to 4-4 while Catlin Orschel sits at 3-2 after winning three straight. Overall, the Ladies are 33-15 in singles action and 17-7 in doubles play.
