Kyle Joplin

Kyle Joplin embarks on his third season in 2016-17 as a dual sports coach. In 2015, he was named the inaugural triathlon coach at Centenary for the 2016 season.

Spending 2014-16 as the head cross country coach and the assistant swimming coach with the Gents and Ladies, he led triathlon to a National Championship berth in the programs first season. After the season, he was voted in as Vice President of collegiate triathlon.

Joplin will continue to assist with the swimming program. In his stint with the Centenary swimming, the Ladies and Gents have claimed All-Conference accolades in 10 individual events and finished All-Conference in eight relay events.

Joplin comes to Centenary after serving as the owner of Runner’s High in his hometown of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where he oversaw the day-to-day duties responsibilities of the store and also coached the men’s and women’s racing teams which included developing training plans and coaching group workouts. During his time with Runner’s High, he also served as head coach for YMCA Hub Fins Masters Swim Team.

Prior to moving back to the Magnolia State, the Auburn University graduate worked in Virginia for three years including stops as the Assistant Director of Competitive Swimming at the Waynesboro YMCA and the swim and triathlon coach for the Atlantic Coast Athletic Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Following the completion of his degrees in finance and economics in 2008, Joplin worked two years at Fleet Feet in Huntsville, Ala.

In his coaching career, Joplin has mentored a top-25 finisher at the USA Track and Field Cross Country National Championships, a USA Swimming Silver Medal Club in the Shenandoah Marlins Aquatics Club, a world record holder in masters swimming and numerous top 10 national swimmers.
