GARLAND, Texas - The Centenary Gents golf team shot a 353 (+65) for the final round to finish eighth at The Classic at Firewheel at the par-72, 6,799-yard Firewheel Golf Park Tuesday, October 31.
The Gents finished with a three-round total of 1016 (+152). Texas A&M Commerce win the tournament with an 887 (+23), while Arkansas-Monticello finished runner-up, 21 strokes back.
Sophomore Reed Balcerowicz turned in the best round for the Gents in windy conditions, firing an 80 (+8) to finish tied for 24th with a total of 235 (+19). Playing as an individual, classmate Taylor Wells carded an 84 (+12) to finish tied for 34th with a 242 (+26).
Rounding out the field in 42nd-45th were freshman Harrison John, junior Edvard Granrud, freshman Austin Craig, and sophomore Brodey Warner. John and Granrud shot 89's (+17), and finished with totals of 254 (+38) and 258 (+42), respectively. Craig fired a 95 (+23) and finished with a 269 (+53) total. Finally, Warner turned in a 100 (+28) and finished with a 276 (+60) score.
This concluded the fall 2017 season for Centenary golf.
