GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - The Brevard College women's golf team wrapped up the second round of play at the Pioneer Classic on Sunday in the team's final competition of the fall season.
Brevard ended Saturday's first round officially listed in fourth place but did not receive a final team score due to Taylor Scovel's withdrawal in the second round.
The Tornados struggled through the first 18 holes but saw all three players that completed play improve on their score by at least three stokes. Courtney Sharp saw a 10-stroke improvement on her way to a 15th-place finish to pace the team. Kelsie Rhyne one-upped her teammate, finishing the second round 12 strokes better than her Saturday effort and concluded play in 20th position. Maddie Lutz was one stroke behind Rhyne in 22nd.
Brevard will now take a three-month hiatus for the winter, returning to the links in February before the season climaxes with the SAC Championship April 10-12 in Monroe, North Carolina.
