SHREVEPORT, La. - Centenary golf, under the direction of ninth-year head coach Emlyn Aubrey, announces the addition of a Lady and Gent student-athlete for 2016. Ashley Walden will join the Ladies golf team while Brodey Warner will tee off for the Gents.
"Ashley and Brodey bring some serious potential to the Ladies and Gents," explained Aubrey. "Both had good high school careers and are excited to join our Centenary golf program. We have a nice group of in-coming players this season, and I am excited to see what they accomplish for Centenary golf."
Ashley Walden
Freshman
Dallas, Texas / Hebron HS
Walden joins the Ladies after playing for Hebron High School and head coach Terri Campbell. She helped the Hawks finish fifth at the State Championships in 2016. Individually, she advanced to Regionals in both 2014 and 2016. Walden also garnered MVP honors for 2015-16 and won the "Heart of Hebron" award for the 2014-15 school year.
Born March 27, 1998, she is the daughter of Genia and Shane Walden. At Centenary, she intends to major in neuroscience.
Brodey Warner
Freshman
Brookeland, Texas / Brookeland HS
Warner took to the links for head coach Mike Defee at Brookeland High School. In his career for the Wildcats, Warner won a District Golf Championship twice, a Regional Championship once and finished fourth at the State Championships in 2016. Academically, he was on the AB Honor Roll at Brookeland High School.
Born August 10, 1998, he is the son of Steven and Stacey Warner and has two brothers, Kyle and Brantley. At Centenary, Warner intends to major in business.
