Preston Ludwick

2020 Junior Season: Played in all 13 games, one of four Gents to do so, in a season cut short due to COVID-19 … ranked in the top three on the team in eight different statistical categories and ranked fourth on the team with a .407 on-base percentage … Batted .327, third on the team, with 17 hits in 52 at-bats and 10 RBI … Walked seven times and only struck out three times … Had four multi-hit games including a three-hit game in the first half of a doubleheader against ETBU on Feb. 8 … Had a four-hit performance on Feb. 22 versus Edgewood ... One of the top pitchers for the Gents as he went 2-1 with a 4.20 ERA with two starts and made four total appearances .... Allowed seven runs, all earned, and 11 hits in 15 innings pitched .... walked five and struck out 15 ... In two wins he pitched a total of 12 innings and allowed two earned runs and 10 hits with no walks and 13 strikeouts. 

2019 Sophomore Season: Was the Gents' top offensive performer as he led the team in batting average (.382), on-base percentage (.475), and slugging percentage (.569) ... His batting average ranked second in the conference ... Also led team in hits with 55 and triples (4) and tied for the team lead with three home runs ... Named First Team All-SCAC ... Played in all 41 games and scored 28 runs while also stealing 11 bases in 14 attempts ... In 144 at-bats he walked 26 times while ony striking out 17 times ... Was named SCAC Player of the Week after an outstanding home series versus Dallas March 22-23 as went 10-for-12 (.833) on the weekend, slugging 1.500 and posting an .857 on base percentage. Ludwick drove in eight runs and scored four more with a pair of steals.

2018 Freshman Season: Played in 33 games and recorded 18 hits for a .276 batting average… finished fourth on the team with nine doubles and also added 14 RBIs, nine runs scored, and a pair of triples… Recorded two extra base hits in as many at-bats with two RBI’s and a run scored twice during the season against Southwestern… The first instance was a pair of doubles in the 8-0 win against the Pirates in the second game of a double header April 7… The second came in an elimination game at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, hitting a double and triple in the 6-3 win against the Pirates May 5… Also appears on the mound in relief in five games with an 8.22 ERA in 7.2 innings pitched… Picked up the win in his first appearance, throwing 3.2 innings of relief and allowing only one hits in the 8-3 win against Pacific February 4.

Prior to Centenary: Pitched, caught, and played the corner infield positions for head coach Dale Waggoner at Pflugerville HS... First Team All-District as a pitcher his senior season and as a DH his junior year for the Panthers... Played in the Central Texas 13-6A All Star Game as a pitcher at the Dell Diamond his senior year... Academically, named Second Team All-State.

Personal: Born May 18 and in Plano, Texas ... Son of Mike and Daphne Ludwick ... Majoring in biology.
