Gents To Face TWA College On Wednesday At Mayo Field

Shreveport - The Centenary football team will play one final time on campus this fall as the Gents welcome the TWA College BattleCats to town for a contest set for 6 p.m. on Wednesday at Mayo Field.
The Gents (5-0) remained undefeated with a 23-6 victory over the John Melvin University Millers last Saturday at Gardner Memorial Stadium in Crowley. Centenary defeated the Millers for the second time this season following a 57-0 victory on Sept. 16 in Shreveport. TWA College is located in Austin, Texas
Centenary, which defeated North American University on Oct. 9 in Houston by a score of 47-0, was scored upon for the first time in 11 quarters of action on Saturday. The Gents have outscored the opposition 240-39 this season.
"We have a great challenge of playing three games in 10 days," said Centenary head coach Byron Dawson.
"We must be physically and mentally prepared for a midweek battle. We are so excited to be back on campus at Mayo field for a 6 p.m. kickoff under the lights. We must get better each and every week understanding that progress is a process. We also understand that when you stop getting better you stop being good."
Centenary will be off for 12 days following Wednesday's game and then return to action with a contest versus the Texas Lutheran JV squad on Monday, Oct. 30 at 5:30 p.m. The game will be played in Fort Worth, Texas at Lake County Christian High School but is considered a home game for the Gents. The Gents finish the season next month with a pair of road games at Arkansas Baptist (Nov. 4 – 2 p.m.) and at Lyon College (Nov. 11 – 2 p.m.).
NOTE: Wednesday's contest was originally scheduled to be played at Evangel Christian Academy
Wednesday is "Military Personnel Appreciation Night" as well as "Breast Cancer Awareness Night" as Centenary's chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha will hold its "Think Pink/Pink Out".
