2010: Competed in 7 of 10 meets ... Appeared on bars in all 7 and on beam in 6 ... Placed 2nd overall on beam against TWU (January 16) with a score of 9.675
2009: Tara did not compete and received a medical redshirt.
2008: Tara enjoyed a great start to her freshman campaign, posting solid scores on the vault, bars, and floor. However, she suffered an injury and missed the final three meets of the year. Her season-best scores were: a 9.600 on the vault against Southeast Missouri and LSU, a 9.900 on the bars against Illinois State, and a 9.725 on the floor against Texas Woman’s University.
High School: Tara graduated from Waller High School in 2007 where she was on the gymnastics team under coaches Dave and Jonnie Niemand.
Club: Tara was a member of Niemand Gymnastics for 12 years. She placed eighth in the all-around at the Western Nationals in 2005. With her club team, Tara was honored as an Ideal Gymnast.

Personal: Born on March 30, 1989 in Houston, Texas, Tara is the daughter of James and Tamara Simmons and calls Waller, Texas her home. She has two brothers and one sister. She is majoring in business and finance and plans to marry a professional baseball player and become his financial advisor.
