2010: Competed in Nationals on bars (April 15-17) ... Appeared in all 10 meets as well as Nationals on bars ... Accomplished 3rd overall on bars against Missouri (February 14) with a score of 9.7 ... Averaged a 9.54 on bars throughout the season

 

2009: Competed mostly on bars, but also scored on the vault and beam ... Best score on the bars was a 9.775 against the Air Force Academy (Feb. 6), while scoring a 9.325 at the USAG National Championship (April 9) and during first meet against Alaska scored a 9.400 on vault (Jan. 16).

 

2008: Makensie competed on the uneven bars in every meet as a freshman. She averaged a score of 9.203 for the season and scored a season-high 9.675 against both LSU and Texas Woman’s University.

 

High School: Makensie graduated from North Gwinnett High School in 2007 where she participated on the diving team under Coach Jonathan Folds. She advanced as far as county three years and state two years. She was a member of the French Club, FBLA, and was awarded the Scholar-Athlete Award.

 

Club: Makensie was a member of the Gwinnett Gymnastics Center under Coach Dan Thaxton for 11 years. She was a Level 10 State Qualifier for three years. She was the state beam and all-around champion in 2005.

All-Around: 37.25, Vault: 9.40, Bars: 9.80, Beam: 9.55, Floor: 9.70

 

Personal: Born December 20, 1988 in Atlanta, Georgia, Makensie is the daughter of Robin and Michael Lant. She has two brothers and one sister. She is majoring in health and exercise science and plans to attend PA (Physician's Assistant) school.
