Bio
2005: Jessie focused her attention on the bars and the beam for the Ladies. She notched a career best score of 9.775 on the bars against Southern Utah and posted another career best of 9.800 on the beam at the Midwest Independent Championships. Her season average on the bars was 9.384 and her average on the beam was 9.393.
2004: Jessie competed on all four events throughout the season for the Ladies. She was a steady member of the bar lineup where she posted a season best 9.700 versus Winona State and at the USAG Championships. Her other top scores included a 9.400 on the vault, a 9.700 on the beam, and a 9.775 on the floor exercise.
Prep: Jessie graduated second in her high school class with a perfect 4.0 grade point average. She was a member of the National Honor Society and Beta Club and earned the IBM Thomas J. Watson Memorial Scholarship.
Club: Jessie earned first-place finishes on the bars for 2003 Region Eight, Level Nine and in the all-around and bars for 2003 Level Nine State for the Georgia Gymnastics Academy. She placed sixth on the beam and seventh on the bars at the 2003 Level Nine Eastern Nationals.
Personal: Jessie was born on June 12, 1985 in Sellville, Georgia. She is the daughter of John and Rhette Angus. Jessie is a biology major and received Centenary’s highest academic scholarship, the Nancy M. Christian Scholarship. Her full name is Jessica Angus.
