Whitney Daugherty - 2007-08 - Gymnastics

2009: Competed in all 11 matches on vault and floor exercise ... Averaged a 9.445 on vault and 9.555 on floor ... Best score in the vault came at the Midwest Intercollegiate Conference Championship (9.625) ... Highest score on the floor was 9.875 against Pennsylvania (March 8).

2008: Whitney was a consistent floor competitor for the Ladies in 2008 and also saw action on the vault. On the floor, she saved the best for last, scoring a 9.800 at USAG Nationals to earn All-American status and advance to the event finals where she placed seventh. Whitney’s high score on the vault was a 9.625 came against Texas Woman’s and again two meets later at the Midwest Independent Championships.  

2007: Whitney competed in vault and floor events for the Ladies. She earned a season high 9.65 on the vault at the USAG Nationals and a floor high of 9.65 against Illinois State.

High School: Whitney graduated from North Cobb High School.

Club: Whitney was a member of the Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta for nine years under coaches Natalia Valter and Jacobo Giron.

Personal: Born July 8, 1988 in Kennesaw, Georgia, Whitney is the daughter of Helen and Alan Daugherty. She has one younger brother. She is an education major with a minor in Spanish. She plans to get married, become a teacher and have a family.
