Men's Basketball Loses NCAA Heartbreaker Friday At UT-Dallas

The Centenary men’s basketball team fell in heartbreaking fashion to the UT-Dallas Comets, 83-81, on Friday evening in the first round of the 2020 NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Championship at the UTD Activity Center. The Gents (18-10) lost for the first time in 11 games as their most successful season in the division III era ended as they played first NCAA Tournament game in school history. Senior guard Cedric Harris (Shreveport) fired a potential game-winning three pointer from the corner that bounced off the rim as time expired allowing the host Comets (22-6) to escape with the victory.

Men's Basketball Wins SCAC Championship And Clinches NCAA Tournament Berth

The Centenary men's basketball team defeated the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs, 77-56, in the 2020 Men's Basketball Championship Game on Sunday at Stephens Family Arena to claim the title and clunch a berth in the upcoming NCAA Division III Tournament. The Gents (18-9, 15-5 SCAC) won their 10th game in a row and won the SCAC tournament title for the first time in program history.

Men's Basketball Picks Up Biggest Win of Division III Era On Friday

The Centenary men’s basketball team picked up its biggest win in the division III era on Friday as the Gents defeated the St. Thomas Celts by a score of 99-89 in a meeting between the top two teams in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference at the Gold Dome. The Gents (14-9, 11-5 SCAC) tied a school single-season record for conference wins in a season and extended their season-best winning streak to six games and marked the first time Centenary has won six in a row since the 2015-16 season.

Men's Basketball Remains Unbeaten In SCAC Play With Victory Over Dallas

The Centenary men's basketball team extended its winning streak to three games and remained perfect in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 77-62 victory on Saturday against the University of Dallas Crusaders at the Maher Center. The Gents (5-4, 2-0 SCAC) have won their first two conference games for the first time since the 2017-18 season after opening SCAC action on Friday with an 82-73 victory over Austin College. Dallas (4-4, 0-2 SCAC) lost its fourth-straight game.
