Women's Track & Field Team Has Successful Day at Belhaven Invitational
The Centenary men's and women's track and field teams had a successful showing at the Belhaven Invitational on Saturday at the Belhaven Track and Field/Soccer Complex.
Jackson, Miss. - The Centenary men's and women's track and field teams had a successful showing at the Belhaven Invitational on Saturday at the Belhaven Track and Field/Soccer Complex.
Junior Paden Sisterhen (Bossier City, La.) and senior Ashlynn Albert (Dallas, Texas) earned the top finishes for the Maroon and White on Saturday. Sisterhen had the Gents' top finish as he placed sixth in the Men's 5000 meter run with a time of 16:49.33 and Albert finished sixth in the Women's shot put (9.60 m).
Senior Jennae Mayberry (Clovis, Calif.) finished 10th in the Women's 400-meter dash (1:03.73) and 15th in the Women's 200 meter run (27.20). Three Ladies placed in the top 15 in the Women's 100-meter dash, as senior Tacoya Allen (Killeen, Texas) placed 12th as she ran a time of 14:35, junior Patience Bates (Houston, Texas) finished 13th with a time of 14:49, and sophomore Jazzmyn Jones (Normangee, Texas) placed 14th with a time of 14:55.
Senior Lauren Pilcher (Bossier City, La.) finished 13th in the Women's shot put (6.98 m) and Ashley Watts placed 14th (4.65 m). The Ladies also finished fifth in the 4 x 100-meter relay, as the team of Allen, Bates, Jones, and Mayberry, ran a time of 53.60.
On the men's side, junior Payton Lii (Dallas, Texas) placed 15th in the Men's 800-meter run (2:13.47) and freshman Jacob Vidrine (Slaughter, La.) finished 18th in the Men's 1500-meter run (4:58.80.

Next up for the Ladies and Gents is the 2021 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Track & Field Championships on April 24 and 25 in Seguin, Texas as the event will be hosted by Texas Lutheran University.
