2017 Freshman Season: Played in 29 matches and 92 sets… Finished second on the team with 3.95 assists per set… Narrowly missed a double-double in her first collegiate match with 17 assists and nine digs in a straight set win against Sul Ross State September 2… Tallied a season high 28 assists in her second collegiate match against Paul Quinn in a straight set win September 2.

Prior to Centenary: Joins the Ladies volleyball team after setting for head coach Sheila Daniels at Montgomery HS... For the Bears, she was named Honorable Mention All-District... Academically, made the All-Academic team and the All-A Honor Roll at Montgomery.

Personal: Full name is Brittany Nicole Risner... Born February 4, 1999 in Humble, Texas... Daughter of Jamie Gilliam and has three brothers – Cody, Chase, and Chance Risner... Major in accounting at Centenary... Niece of Kristy Risner, who was a four-year letter winner in both softball and volleyball for the Ladies from 1990-94 and was inducted into the Centenary Hall of Fame in 2005.

Volleyball To Face Grambling On Road Tuesday

The Centenary volleyball team will face the Grambling Lady Tigers in a non-conference match set for 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center. The Ladies (10-19, 6-8 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) went 1-3 this past weekend in the SCAC Group A Divisional #2 tournament hosted by the University of Dallas in Irving. Centenary split a pair of matches on Saturday, defeating Schreiner, 3-2, and losing a tough match to Dallas, 3-2.

Volleyball To Participate In SCAC Cross-Divisional Tournament This Weekend

The Centenary volleyball team will participate in the SCAC Cross-Divisional Tournament this weekend hosted by Schreiner University.  The Ladies (6-13) face Trinity in the first match of the event on Friday at 11 a.m. on court one. The Maroon and White then square off with Texas Lutheran at 3 p.m. on court #2. On Sunday, Centenary faces Johnson and Wales at 10 a.m. and then closes play against Austin College at 4 p.m.

Volleyball Drops Match to Grambling In Five Sets

The Centenary volleyball team dropped a non-conference nail biter to the Grambling Lady Tigers in five sets on Thursday evening inside the Gold Dome.  The Ladies fell to 6-13 overall while Grambling improved to 7-11. The Ladies started the match out hot, taking the first two sets (25-18, 25-22) but then Grambling responded with a 25-21 victory in set three and won the fourth set, 25-18. After a 10-10 tie, the Lady Tigers went on a run to end the set and win, 15-10. The match was tied 27 times and the lead changed 10 times.

The Ladies (6-12) swept the Jarvis Christian Lady Bulldogs, 3-0, on Tuesday evening in a non-conference match. Centenary improved to 4-3 at home and earned their second sweep of the season. Centenary won the match with scores of 25-15, 25-22, and 25-17 over the Lady Bulldogs.
