Ladies Set To Face Wiley College On Road

The Ladies, who fell 3-1 to the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs on Sunday in Georgetown, Texas, enter Wednesday's match at 7-13 overall while the Lady Wildcats are 4-12 and lost 3-0 at Fisk on Saturday. The teams are meeting for the second time this season following Centenary's 3-0 victory back on Sept. 13 in the Gold Dome. The Ladies are 4-4 on the road this season while Wiley is 2-1 at home.
The Maroon and White are seventh in the country in division III in total digs (1,252) and currently lead the conference and are 47th in the country in digs per set (17.40). Senior DS/L Jaycie Proctor (Paris, Texas) is tied for 22nd in the country and second in the SCAC in digs (328) and is tied for 32nd in digs per set (5.38). Proctor has also recorded 38 assists, 11 service aces, and four kills. She has tallied 20 or more digs in a match seven times this season and in four of her last six matches.
Senior S/RS Rachel Demerjian (Glendora, Calif.) is having another impressive season for the Ladies as she currently leads the team and ranks fourth in the conference in assists (339) and has a team-leading 21 aces to go with 140 digs, 27 kills, and six solo blocks. She is averaging 2.98 digs/set. Freshman S Meadow Smith (Mansfield, Texas) is second on the team in assists (272), good for eighth in the conference and has 118 digs, 17 aces, and 10 kills. She recorded a career-high 37 assists in Sunday's loss to TLU.
Senior MB Liz Lowe (San Antonio, Texas) is tied for the team lead in aces with Demerjian (21) and has 157 kills, 93 digs, and a team-best 36 blocks. Sophomore RS Jaylin St. Martin (New Orleans, La.) has recorded 146 kills, 101 digs, 17 aces, and eight assists. Sophomore MB Elizabeth Canady (League City, Texas) posted a career-best 19 kills in the loss to TLU and had a pair of digs and two block assists for 20 total points. She has tallied 99 kills, 25 digs, and 11 blocks this season.
Sophomore OH/DS Kiara Liedy (Sugar Land, Texas) and junior MB/OH Robin Lemelle (Liberty, Texas) have combined for 279 digs, 20 aces, 20 kills, and nine assists, while freshman OH Jaeda Moreno (Weslaco, Texas) is in the midst of an impressive rookie season with 48 digs, 43 kills, three aces and a pair of assists. Freshman MB Susi Curtis (Haslet, Texas) has tallied 77 kills, 18 digs, three assists, and 25 blocks (fourth on team).
The Ladies will be back home this weekend as they host a tri-match at the Gold Dome on Saturday with The University of Dallas and LeTourneau University. Centenary will face Dallas at Noon in a league match and then LeTourneau in a non-conference contest at approximately 5 p.m. The Crusaders ad YellowJackets will face off in the middle contest at approximately 2:30 p.m.
