Swimming Earns Sweep At Millsaps
The Centenary men's and women's swimming teams recorded a sweep over the Millsaps College Majors on Saturday in a dual meet at GRIT Training.
Flowood, Miss. - The Centenary men's and women's swimming teams recorded a sweep over the Millsaps College Majors on Saturday in a dual meet at GRIT Training.
The men picked up a 171-56 victory while the women earned a 125-81 win.
Sophomore Hannah Waddell (Shreveport, La.) led the way for the Ladies with three individual wins and freshman Hunter Hedges (Murphy, Texas) had three wins to lead the Gents. Freshman Bailey Allemeier (Altus, Okla.) had two individual wins and the Ladies finished with seven total while the Gents tallied nine individual wins. Centenary recorded 16 runner-up finishes combined between the men and women.
Sophomore Reece Esser (Huntsville, Texas) and sophomore Cicely Jackson (Lafayette, La.) each had one individual win and senior Antonio Barbee (Plaquemine, La.), sophomore Ubaldo Ayala (Hallsville, Texas), freshman Parker Randolph (Shreveport, La.), freshman Trey White (Ball, La.), freshman Adam Stelly (Opelousas, La.), and freshman Sake Stroderd (Sulphur, La.) each had an individual win on the men's side.
Allemeier, Esser, freshman Ella Walton (Lafayette, La.), and Waddell won the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 2:03.46 and sophomore Stacy Brown (Baytown, Texas), junior Adriana de la Fuente (Baton Rouge, La.), sophomore Kennadi St. Clair (Duncanville, Texas), sophomore Sydney Welch (Moss Bluff, La.) combined to finish third in a time of 2:33.43.
Ayala, Hedges, Stelly, and Stroderd won the 200-medley relay (1:46.49) and White and Randolph teamed with freshman Cade Campbell (Ruston, La.) and junior Jameson Feeney (Shreveport, La.) to place third in a time of 1:56.51.
Jackson, Welch, St. Clair and freshman Isabela Vasquez (Lafayette, La.) earned a runner-up finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay as they swam a time of 2:02.26 and the Gents earned second and third-place finishes in the 200 free relay.
Centenary will hold its annual Intrasquad/Alumni meet on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m.
