Gents Seventh and Ladies Fifth Halfway Home At SCAC Championships
Garland, Texas – The Centenary swimming teams finished day two of competition in the annual Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Thursday as the Ladies are in fifth place with 114 points while the Gents are seventh with 106 points at the Garland ISD Natatorium.

The Ladies and Gents are joined this week by Austin College, Colorado College, Hendrix College, McMurry University, University of the Ozarks, the University of St. Thomas and Asbury University for the four-day event. The Gents finished fourth at the event last season and earned 292 points as they recorded their best finish in the event since also finishing fourth in 2021 while the Ladies placed sixth and tallied 265 points.
Sophomore Bailey Allemeier (Altus, Okla.) finished sixth in the Championship Final of the 500 yard freestyle as she swam a time of 5:32.72 and junior Reece Esser (Huntsville, Texas) placed eighth in the Championship Final of the 50 free (24.95) as both medaled in their respective events.
The Ladies' team of Allemeier, Esser, junior Cicely Jackson (Lafayette, La.) and sophomore Isabela Vasquez (Lafayette, La.) swam a time of 4:19.65 to place fifth in the finals of the 400-Yard Medley Relay and the men's foursome of senior Daniel Lewis (Alexandria, La.), sophomore Parker Randolph (Shreveport, La.), sophomore Adam Stelly (Opelousas, La.), and freshman Jack Williams (Lafayette, La.) finished seventh in the 400 Medley (3:48.38).
Stelly recorded a personal-best in the 500 free (4:57) and Lewis had a personal record in the 200 IM (2:07).
Friday's schedule begins with the 100 Butterfly at 10:30 a.m. followed by the 400 IM, 200 freestyle, 100 Breaststroke, 100 backstroke, women's 3-Meter Diving, and Men's 1-Meter Diving – both at 12:30 p.m.
A special recognition of all the senior student-athletes is set for 5:45 p.m. on Friday followed by evening finals. Saturday's action begins at 10:30 a.m. and is followed by the finals at 6 p.m.
