Ladies Eighth After Opening Round At SCAC Championships

The Centenary women's golf team shot a 116-over par 404 on Sunday in the opening round of the 2025 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships as the Ladies are in eighth place on the New Course at White Bluff Golf Resort.

Trinity University holds the team lead after 18 holes as the Tigers shot a 38-over par 326 to lead Southwestern University by eight shots. The University of St. Thomas, the designated host for the tournament, is in third place at 69-over par 357. Texas Lutheran University and Schreiner University are in a fourth-place tie (75-over par 363), the University of Dallas is sixth (+ 77 - 365) and McMurry University is seventh at 105-over 393.

The women are being tested by a par-72, 5,373-yard course. Southwestern's Rachel Harris holds the individual lead after shooting a 3-over par 75 and is one shot ahead of Trinity's Jessica Mason. Freshman Haylee Crowder (Haughton, La.) led the way for the Ladies on Sunday as she shot a 22-over par 94 and is tied for 25th place.

Sophomore Mya Thompson (South Jordan, Utah) is tied for 29th after shooting a 25-over 97, freshman Amber Shaw (Hughes Springs, Texas) shot a 33-over 105 and is in 34th place sophomore Jordyn Templeton (Columbus, Texas) shot a 36-over 108 and is in a tie for 35th place.

Templeton will be the first among the Ladies to tee off on Monday at 8:25 a.m. followed by Shaw at 8:33 a.m., Thompson at 8:41 a.m., and finally Crowder at 8:49 a.m.
