Morgan Dorsey enters her sixth season as head coach of the women's soccer program in 2025.
The Ladies finished 3-13-2 overall and 1-9-0 in SCAC play in 2024. Centenary scored 22 goals during the season and added 18 assists as 13 different players scored at least one goal and 11 had at least one assist. Junior D/MF Kylie Zeller (Denham Springs, La.) and freshman F Jenevieve Willis (Bossier City, La.) tied for the team lead in goals scored with three each and freshman MF Sydney Hamm (Sterlington, La.) had a team-high three assists. Willis had a team-leading eight points with Zeller right behind her with seven.
Senior MF Aubrey Burkhardt (Bossier City, La.) and sophomore MF Sarah Crenshaw (Alexandria, La.) represented the Ladies on the All-SCAC Team as they had identical offensive stats as each scored two goals and tallied two assists for a total of six points apiece. Burkhardt played in all 18 of the Ladies' matches, starting 16, and Crenshaw started all 18 matches in her first season with the Maroon and White after transferring from Roanoke College. Both Burkhardt and Crenshaw earned All-SCAC honors for the first time in their careers.
Sophomore GK/MF Zoe Keller (Waggaman, La.) finished second in the conference in saves (81) and her 5.79 saves per game also ranked second. She made a season-best 13 on Oct. 27 against TLU after she made a previous season-high 12 against Southwestern two days prior. Keller's 81 saves are the 10th-most in a single season in the D3 era in program history.
Five Ladies tallied two assists apiece and Burkhardt, Crenshaw, and Willis all had multiple goals and assists. Senior D/MF Kaitlyn Bordelon (Shreveport, La.) scored two goals and had one assist, and senior MF/D Desiree Rodriguez (Forney, Texas) and sophomore MF Shona Carlton (Ponchatoula, La.) each scored a pair.
Junior MF Madi Cooley (Vidalia, La.) and Zeller were both named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team after the season. The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Soccer teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Dorsey was named the sixth head coach of the Ladies' program in April, 2020 and is 18-55-9 overall in her four seasons at the helm including an 9-32-4 mark in SCAC regular-season matches. She had a stellar debut season in 2020 as she led the Ladies to one of their most successful seasons in program history, as the Maroon and White finished 8-4 overall and 4-3 in SCAC play.
The Ladies finished 1-12-3 overall and 0-6-1 in conference play in 2023 but despite their struggles that season, one constant theme was strong defense. Centenary held 12 of its 16 opponents to two goals or less and recorded four shutouts. The Maroon and White held seven opponents to one goal or less and one of the highlights of the season was earning a scoreless tie at Austin College on Oct. 15, despite only traveling with 11 players due to injuries.
Zeller notched her first-career goal to give the Ladies a 2-1 home win over Belhaven on Sept. 12. Centenary placed two on the 2023 SCAC All-Conference Team as senior F/MF Daisy Acosta (Deer Park, Texas) and junior GK Madison Ersoff (Shreveport, La.) each earned Honorable-Mention honors.
Ersoff had an impressive campaign as she led the conference in saves (115) and ranked first in saves per game (7.19) and shutouts (four), fifth in save percentage (.767), and ninth in goals against average (GAA) at 2.19. She tied for 44th in the country in saves. She earned all-conference recognition for the first time in her career. She was named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 18, earning the honor for the first time in her career.
Her 115 saves this season are the third-most in a season in the division III era (2011-present) in program history, her 2.19 GAA is ninth, and her 13 saves against TLU are tied for the sixth-most in a match in the D3 era. Ersoff's 216 career saves put her in third place all-time and just one away from second place and her 2.23 career GAA ranks fifth.
Nine Ladies were named to the SCAC Academic Honor Roll during the 2023 season and Ersoff and Zeller were named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Women's Soccer Team, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Centenary finished 2-16-2 overall and 2-11-1 in SCAC play in 2022 but the Ladies allowed two goals or less in a game 12 times during the season, displaying their overall defensive ability. Dorsey led the Ladies to a 4-10-2 overall mark and 2-3-2 record in SCAC play in 2021.
The Ladies set a Division III era (2011-present) single-season record for shutouts in a season in her 2020 debut season with seven and finished the regular season allowing just five goals and outscoring their opponents, 20-5.
Dorsey was previously named head coach of the Centenary men's and women's cross country and track and field teams in July of 2019. She served as assistant coach for the Ladies' soccer program under former head coach Greg Cathell. Dorsey, a Chelmsford, Mass. native, is a graduate of Lyndon State College located in Lyndonville, Vermont in 2016 with a bachelor of science in liberal studies-psychology.
She served as head men's and women's track and field coach at Lyndon State from 2015 to 2017 producing four All-Conference athletes during her tenure. She was responsible for recruiting 21 new student-athletes to the team and managed all operational and fiscal activities for the sport. Dorsey was also head women's soccer coach at Lyndon State from 2016 to 2017, where she recruited a strong class of ten new student-athletes and fostered a cumulative team GPA of 3.4.
Prior to entering the college coaching ranks, Dorsey served as head girls soccer coach at Esparto High School in Esparto, Calif., where she was named 2013-2014 co-coach of the year and led her team to the first conference championship in school history.
