Last week was not all sunshine and rainbows for the Ladies. Unfortunately, following the hype of the LSU meet we had Covid protocols put upon our team, so we were out of the gym for 7 days. We have been able to practice now and will be back to action this weekend in the Dome. The Ladies do not stray away from a challenge. We have learned to face adversity and make the best out of every opportunity. While in the quarantine situation the Ladies were able to spend time reflecting and mentally preparing for what is to come in the season we have ahead of us.
Once we got back into the gym, we were able to focus on getting back into the "swing" of things and put some of our mental game into use. Having spent the time working on our visualizations, self-talk and our mental choreography during our time out of the gym really helped us to come back and gain our confidence quickly as we moved back into competition routines.
I want to shout out Madison McCary because her years at Centenary have been nothing but a wild ride. She is such an amazing teammate and never backs away from a challenge. Her ability to bounce back from multiple injuries has been incredible and seeing her back on the Bars and Beam makes my heart so happy! I also want to give a shout out to Carissa Martinez because she has been working extremely hard in the gym after coming back from a pre-season set back. Your Beam and Floor are ELECTRIC!
The Ladies are at home in the Dome for the first time this season against the Air Force Academy, on Sunday, January 23rd, at 1:00. Only people with Centenary IDs are allowed into the Dome at this time, but we are hoping to have fans for our meets in March.
