Hey Ladies Fans! It's sophomore Emma bringing you this week's gym talk. We are t-minus 55 days until the Ladies hit the Gold Dome for our opening intrasquad, and I hope to see you all there!
The Ladies are gearing up for season as it quickly approaches. This week was filled with consistency and confidence. The ladies are working hard to clean up routines and performing under pressure. This weekend was filled with oodles of talent and excitement. Senior Taylor Wilson is swinging like the bar star she is, and I am currently on a catching streak, ifykyk. Sophomore Mylia Vidtor made her blind full over and freshman Olivia Stratmann was caught swinging on the bars again! Lots of excitement and accomplishments occurring over on bars this past weekend.
This weekend's vault intrasquad was filled with power. Rissy Rue continues to shake the vault with all her might, while Lacey is 'popping it like it's hot.' Leilani and Kendall were both sky high with their twisting vaults and freshman Amy had a gigantic layout to show. Both Kennedy and Taylor are getting more consistent and confident in the lineup, and I am beginning to push my new vault to the next level. Ultimately, our vault shakers are starting to make a dent in the table from the magnitude of our power and we are eager to debut our upgrades in the Dome.
Can I just say our energy on Sunday night was intense. The Ladies sure know how to be loud. Our FLOOR ROARS were bringing down the Jill's on Sunday night. Seniors Kendall Huff, Kennedy Stephens, Lacey Wedge, Leilani Johnson, Taylor Wilson, Sophomores Carissa Martinez and Emma Lavelle, along with freshman Amy Foret dominated the floor intrasquad. As the year continues, the Ladies are focusing on building floor endurance and showing off our Lady-P. Our floor lineup is stacked this year! Get ready to be on the edge of your seat every time the Ladies hit the floor.
To round out this week's gym talk, please help me welcome our newest addition to the family, Joseph Hodges! Joseph has left 'the Windy City' for the City of Shreveport and has brought the cold weather down with him. The Ladies are so excited to finally have Joseph on campus and in the Jill's coaching us.
Thank you for keeping up with the LADIES! Make sure to tune in next week to hear from sophomore Mylia Vidtor!
Till next time,
Sophomore Emma Lavelle
