Gents Finish 10th In Space City Classic
The Centenary men's golf team finished 10th at the Space City Classic on Tuesday as the Gents opened their spring season in the event held at Gus Wortham Park Golf Course.
Houston, Texas – The Centenary men's golf team finished 10th at the Space City Classic on Tuesday as the Gents opened their spring season in the event held at Gus Wortham Park Golf Course.

The Gents shot rounds of 312-315-320 for a tournament total of 95-over par 947. Trinity University won the tournament by shooting 288-285-286 to finish at 7-over par 859 and finished four shots ahead of LeTourneau University.
The University of St. Thomas finished third with a score of 879 (296-284-299), while the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (881) edged out Willamette University (882) by a single shot to take fourth. Texas Lutheran University was sixth (901), Millsaps College was seventh with a total of 907 to beat Hardin-Simmons University (908) by one. Howard Payne University was ninth with a three-round total of 936, ahead of Centenary. Trinity's Sam Rossi claimed the individual title by shooting a 10-under par 203 to finish eight shots ahead of LeTourneau's Noah Summers.
Senior Andrew Bennett (Bossier City, La.) finished 17th at 9-over par 222 (76-71-75), sophomore Aubrey Snell (Shreveport, La.) tied for 25th place at 14-over 227, junior Jeffrey Borchert (Katy, Texas) shot a 37-over par 250 to finish 54th, freshman Ryder Briggs (Blanchard, La.) placed 55th at 41-over par 254, and senior Tyler Jones (Stonewall, La.) finished 56th at 45-over 258. Bennett now owns 16 top-20 finishes in his career and has done so in every tournament so far this season.
Centenary will return to action in the FST Pinecrest Invitational March 10-11 in Longview, Texas.
