Track & Field Impressive At Belhaven Invitational
The Centenary men's and women's track and field teams were impressive on Saturday in the Belhaven Invitational on Saturday as the Maroon and White recorded a team school relay record and multiple individual personal bests at the Belhaven Track & Field Complex.

The men's team of junior Christian Cormier (Lafayette, La.), sophomore Cameron Hobley (Coushatta, La.), sophomore Dwayne Mills Jr. (Slidell, La.), and sophomore Jay Scott (Slidell, La.) set a school record in the 4 x 100 meter relay, running a time of 40.45- the fastest time run so far in the country in division III this season, and finished third.
Scott teamed with freshman Malcolm Pierce (Ruston, La.), junior Bryan Washington (Wylie, Texas), and freshman Zack Wroten (Benton, La.) to run a time of 3:31.41 in the 4 x 400 relay to finish sixth.
Mills Jr. was runner-up in the 100 meters (10.73), Cormier was fourth (10.84), Hobley was 19th (11.83), and sophomore Godly Ogunyinka (Baton Rouge, La.) was 21st (12:02). Junior Herman Pride (Baton Rouge, La.) finished 22nd in the 200 meters (23.56) and sophomore Richard Ross (Normangee, Texas) finished 25th (23.82).
Wroten led the way with his eighth-place finish in the 400 meters (50.48), Pierce finished 13th (51.65), sophomore Clayton Hancock (Buna, Texas) was 15th (52.24), Washington was 18th (52.70), and freshman Sawyer Mathews (DeRidder, La.) was 20th (53.19).
Scott finished sixth in the triple jump (41'1") and 10th in the long jump (21'2") and Mills Jr. was 13 the long jump (19'11.75"). Freshman Ian Hunter (Princeton, Texas) finished seventh in the 5000 meters (18:49.01) and freshman Michael Cunningham (Carencro, La.) threw a 136' 2" in the discus.
Sophomore Grayson Shugart (McKinney, Texas) finished fifth in the triple jump (32'3") and 15th in the 400 meters (1:03.47) and sophomore Gabrielle Malagarie (Lafayette, La.) finished fifth in the high jump (4'11").
