Gents Back In Action At Grambling State XC Invite
The Centenary men's cross country team returns to action on Thursday as the Gents will compete in the Grambling State XC Invite held at Lincoln Parish Park starting at 3:30 PM.
Ruston, La. - The Centenary men's cross country team returns to action on Thursday as the Gents will compete in the Grambling State XC Invite held at Lincoln Parish Park starting at 3:30 PM.
The meet will feature a 5K and the Gents will be joined by the host Tigers, Louisiana Tech University, and Southern University.
Centenary finished sixth in the ULM Cross Country Invitational against a competitive field in its most recent action on Sept. 12.
Freshman Zack Wroten (Benton, La.) had the Gents' top finish (33:03.31) in 24th place, freshman Ian Hunter (Princeton, Texas) finished 29th (34:14.64), and sophomore Phillip Hughes (Bossier City, La.) finished 34th (37:12.87).
Sophomore Clayton Hancock (Buna, Texas) was 42nd (43:28.96), sophomore Evan Halbert (Pearl River, La.) was 44th (46:11.00), and freshman Sawyer Mathews (DeRidder, La.) finished 45th in a time of 1:29:22.01. Wroten has recorded the Gents' top finish in all three meets this season.
Next up for the Gents is the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships set for Saturday, Nov. 1 in Houston, Texas.
