Gents Finish Fourth In Grambling State XC Invite

Ruston, La. - The Centenary men's cross country team finished fourth in the Grambling State XC Invite on Thursday at Lincoln Parish Park.

The Gents earned 89 team points and finished behind Louisiana Tech University, Southern University, and the host Tigers.
Freshman Zack Wroten (Benton, La.) had the Gents' top finish (19:12.40) to place 13th, freshman Ian Hunter (Princeton, Texas) finished in 15th place, running a time of 20:05.90, and sophomore Phillip Hughes (Bossier City, La.) finished 19th (21:49.90).
Sophomore Clayton Hancock (Buna, Texas) finished right behind Hughes in 20th place (23:29.20) and sophomore Evan Halbert (Pearl River, La.) and freshman Sawyer Mathews (DeRidder, La.) finished 22nd and 23rd with times of 25:04.60 and 27:30.20 respectively. The rookie Wroten has recorded the Gents' top finish in all four meets this season.
Next up for the Gents is the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships set for Saturday, Nov. 1 in Houston, Texas.
