Three Ladies were named to the 2025 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the championship this past weekend, the league office announced.
Georgetown, Texas - Three Ladies were named to the 2025 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the championship this past weekend, the league office announced.
Sophomore CF Noelle Sandmann (Huntsville, Texas), senior P/UT Emma Shepherd (Athens, La.), and senior C Abby Touchet (Shreveport, La.) earned spots on the team following their impressive individual performances over the weekend for the Ladies.
The Ladies, who finished their season at 21-22 overall, went 2-2 in the event, falling one game shy of advancing to the championship round. Centenary, the No. 6 seed, rebounded from a 6-2 loss to the No. 3 seed Trinity University Tigers on Friday in their tournament opener to notch consecutive elimination-round victories over the No. 5 seed McMurry University War Hawks on Saturday and a 5-3 win over Trinity on Sunday morning.
The rookie Sandmann had five hits, two runs scored for the Ladies highlighted by a career-high three in the win over McMurry and played a flawless center field. Shepherd, who was named Honorable-Mention All-SCAC on Friday, appeared in all four games of the championship and pitched 17.2 innings with six strikeouts and tossed a complete game to defeat McMurry. Touchet, who also earned Honorable-Mention honors, went 5-13 at the plate with two RBI, a walk, three runs scored, two doubles, and no strikeouts.
