Shreveport – The Centenary women's golf program has released its 2021-22 schedule, as the Ladies will participate in a pair of tournaments this fall beginning next week.
Centenary will begin its fall competition on Monday, Oct. 4 and Tuesday, Oct. 5 in the Rhodes Classic held at Mirimichi Golf Course in Millington, Tenn. The Ladies then wrap up the fall season on Oct. 18-19 in the University of Dallas Crusader Invitational at the Winstar Golf Club in Thackerville, Okla. Centenary's spring schedule is still tentative and will be released at a later time.
"We lost our veteran starter to graduation (Shannon Orlopp) but we are looking to fill her shoes with our newcomers, freshmen Kiley Smith (Fort Worth, Texas) and Nia Stewart (Ellenwood, Ga.)," said Centenary head coach Emlyn Aubrey.
"Our experienced three, led by seniors Abigail Hayes (Plano, Texas), and Lindsay Strohm (McKinney, Texas) and sophomore Madison Wing (Shreveport, La.), look to bring the consistency and when our freshmen get comfortable in their new roles, we should do quite well," said Aubrey.
"Experience needs to take over for the Ladies and those players also need to guide the young ones to get on track sooner rather than later."
The SCAC Championships will be held April 18-19 at Valler Creek Golf Club in Blanco, Texas.
