Track & Field Has Solid Showing At Jim Mize Invitational
The Centenary men's and women's track and field teams completed action on Saturday in the Jim Mize Invitational hosted by Louisiana Tech University at the Jim Mize Track and Field Complex.
Ruston, La. - The Centenary men's and women's track and field teams completed action on Saturday in the Jim Mize Invitational hosted by Louisiana Tech University at the Jim Mize Track and Field Complex.

Men's Results:
Sophomore Christian Cormier (Lafayette, La.) finished 20th in the 100-meter dash (10.79) while freshman Jay Scott (Slidell, La.) placed 27th (11.04), and freshman Omar Butler (Crowley, La.) finished 35th (11.37).
In the 200 meters, Omar Butler finished 34th (23.13), freshman Clayton Hancock (Buna, Texas) finished 36th (23.23), and sophomore Herman Pride (Baton Rouge, La.) was 37th (23.65).
Freshman Phillip Hughes (Bossier City, La.) was the Gents' top finisher in the 400 meters (51.68) at 19th place, Hancock was 20th (51.89), and sophomore Bryan Washington (Wylie, Texas) finished 21st (52.41).
Scott led the way in the long jump (6.37m) as he placed 17th and Pride finished 21st (5.88m). Hughes, Hancock, Washington, and freshman Richard Ross (Normangee, Texas) finished third in the men's 4 x 400 meter relay as they ran a time of 3:37.91. Ross, Cormier, Omar Butler, and junior Obadiah Butler (Crowley, La.) finished fifth in the 4 x 100 meter relay (43.35).
Women's Results:
Sophomore Ella Walton (Lafayette, La.) finished seventh in the discus (27.31m) and freshman Grayson Shugart (McKinney, Texas) earned a 13th-place finish in the 400-meters (1:05.67), finished 20th in the women's long jump (4.69m) and 25th in the 200 meters (27.62)
